Tanım

Inserts a subtractive sphere in the active Body. Its shape is subtracted from the existing solid.

On the left: active body (A) shown in grey and subtractive sphere (B) shown in transparent red; result on the right.

Usage

  1. There are several ways to invoke the tool:
    • Press the Subtractive Sphere button. Note: the Subtractive Sphere is part of an icon menu labelled Subtractive Primitive. After launching FreeCAD, the Subtractive Box is the one displayed in the toolbar. To get the Sphere, click on the down arrow besides the visible icon and select Subtractive Sphere in the menu.
    • Select the Part Design → Subtractive Primitive → Subtractive Sphere option from the menu.
  2. The task panel opens.
  3. Set the parameters. introduced in 26.3: If the Show interactive draggers when editing features preference is selected (default), the radius can be adjusted with an interactive gizmo in the 3D View.
  4. Optionally set the Attachment.
  5. Click OK.
  6. A Sphere feature appears under the active Body.

Options

The Sphere can be edited after its creation in two ways:

  • Double-clicking it in the Tree View, or by right-clicking and selecting Edit Primitive in the context menu; this brings up the task panel and (introduced in 26.3) the interactive gizmo (if enabled).
  • Via the Property View.

Operation

Sets the boolean operation used to combine the sphere with the base solid. introduced in 26.3

  • Subtraction (default): the sphere removes its volume from the base solid, as in previous versions.
  • Common: the sphere keeps only the volume shared between itself and the base solid, discarding everything else.

Properties

  • VeriAttachment: defines the attachment mode as well as the Attachment Offset. See Part EditAttachment.
  • VeriOperation (Enumeration): sets the boolean operation used to combine the feature with the base solid (Subtraction, Common), see Options. introduced in 26.3
  • VeriLabel: Label given to the Sphere object. Change to suit your needs.
  • VeriRadius: Radius of the sphere.
  • VeriAngle1: (labelled V parameter in the Primitive Parameters) lower truncation of the sphere, parallel to the circular cross section (-90 degrees in a full sphere)
  • VeriAngle2: (unlabelled in the Primitive Parameters) upper truncation of the sphere, parallel to the circular cross section (90 degrees in a full sphere).
  • VeriAngle3: (labelled U parameter in the Primitive Parameters) angle of rotation of the cross section (360 degrees in a full sphere).
